Visitors to our school

Kingsley Primary School & Support Centre

 

Welcome to Kingsley Primary School. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of all pupils/students, staff and visitors, therefore all visitors must agree to the following before being allowed access to the whole school site

 

General Expectations

  • Enter and Exit the site at main entrance to school or the Support Centre, ensure that you sign in and out at all times
  • Do not move around the school site unescorted unless given permission to do so by a member of staff. Please stay within the areas that are necessary for your visit
  • Please do not interact with pupils/students unless instructed by a member of staff to do so
  • You will be issued with a visitor’s badge which must be worn at all times so that it is visible Please return this to reception as you leave the school site. Accessible adult toilets are next to the staffroom in school and in within the Support Centre
  • First Aid equipment is stored in the cupboard opposite the ladies toilets near the school office or in the Support Centre office
  • You are welcome to park on site, if spaces are available. Please park safely to allow children safe access and egress. Please show courtesy to adjacent residents and do not restrict their access to their drive if you need to park on the main road
  • Smoking, consuming alcohol or any illegal substances is prohibited at all times

 

Fire

  • Please familiarise yourself with the fire exits which are shown on maps of the school placed in rooms, corridors and office areas
  • If you hear the alarm sound, report to the fire assembly point closets to where you are in the building so that you can be accounted for
  • If you are working with children/pupils lead them to safety and inform a member of school staff so that registers can be taken

 

Mobile phones, cameras, etc.

Whilst on site please:

  • Use only in connection with your business and when you are approved to do so
  • Do not leave equipment unattended
  • Ensure that your mobile phones’ ‘bluetooth’ capacity is disabled
  • Do not use mobile phones in the presence of pupils
  • Computers are not to be used by visitors, unless you are approved to do so

 

Interactions with pupils

Where your role requires that you interact with pupils/students or you are attending School on Local Authority/Partnership/Agency working you must:

  • Present your photo ID
  • Relevant checks will be made depending on your reason for visit. If a DBS certificate is required, your information will be taken and stored on our Single Central Register for any future visits.
  • Wear your ID badges so they are visible at all times

Confidentiality

  • Personal information is not disclosed either orally, in writing or via the web or by any other means accidently or otherwise to any unauthorised third party  
  • All data and school information should not be shared outside of the workplace

 

Safeguarding/

Child Protection

  • Any concerns or disclosures must be reported immediately to the Head Teacher (Mrs Alison Darby) or Carole Allott/Jill Sherwood who are the named people for Child Protection in the school. This information must not be discussed with anyone else

 

Anyone whose actions/behaviours, etc. causes concerns or who do not follow the above requirements may be reported to the Local Authority for further action
