  • Message to Parents

    Fri 08 Jan 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers,

I want to start by thanking you for your support during what has been an eventful week.

I realise for many of you the thought of returning to home learning was not a happy one. I want to reassure you that we are not expecting miracles. We know that being a parent and trying to be a teacher is hard.

We know its difficult trying to juggle the demands of different  aged children in different     classes or schools.

    I just wanted to point out a few things;

    · Our online lessons are recorded so your children can complete them whenever it works best in your house.

    · If you are under pressure on a particular day you can complete the lessons on a different day, (just do them in order).

    · If you or your child are struggling you can email for help.

    · Lockdown is hard for everyone so try to do some fun things too. E.g. films, baking, crafts and walks.

    · If you need to let your child play on a game for half an hour so you can have a break, don’t worry (that’s why we have a staffroom)

In summary please just do your best. If you have collected the pack from school and logged on already that is great, if not please try to collect the pack as soon as you can and get logged on.

If we can help with anything at all please just ask. The office is open everyday and if we can help we will.

Despite it being very hard on everyone right now, your child's education must be a priority. We all need to do everything we can to ensure they don’t fall too far behind. We have been given strict guidance from the government that all children must complete home learning, if they are not in school. As a result we have to monitor how many children are logging on and trying to      complete work. If we see your child has failed to complete their home learning we will be contacting you to see what the problem is.

We appreciate the effort you are putting in to help us help your children.

    Stay safe everyone

    Mrs Darby

  • Home Learning Update

    Fri 08 Jan 2021
Thank you to those parents who have collected work packs and whose children are accessing online work already.
Teachers are uploading daily class lessons on Google Classrooms which ALL children should be completing. For those of you who haven’t collected packs they need to be collected from the school office as soon as possible.
Online learning for all children is accessed through google classroom. Instructions for this is in the work packs. Your child will be falling behind in their learning if they are not completing work.
If you have any problems or questions please contact the school office.
    Many thanks

  • Updated Closure Information

    Tue 05 Jan 2021

    Dear Parents/Carers

Thank you for your patience while we deal with the new lockdown arrangements.  Everyone who  needed one should now have had a phone call back from staff within school.  If you are expecting a call and we have missed you, please call back tomorrow and we will get back to you.

Packs for home learning have been put together today and are available for collection from the school office tomorrow.  They include information re online learning and some paper resources.

E-mail contact with teachers continues to be available, we can also now provide some tuition for pupils who are struggling with aspects of the online teaching.  All of the information is in the packs.

We are still working on providing free school meals for pupils who are entitled and we will be in touch to discuss your requirements later this week.

If we can help with anything during lockdown, please get in touch with school and we will do our best.  I appreciate this is a difficult time for everyone but if we continue to work together and support each other we will get through it.

    Home Learning

    Dear Parents/Carers,

We have a number of laptops available for children to borrow to access home learning.

If your child struggles to complete home learning due to limited or no access to a device or only limited access via a mobile phone please contact the school as soon as possible to discuss the possibility of loaning a laptop.

If you require any equipment such as pencils, paper, pencil sharpeners or additional work sheets please contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support.

  • More School Closure Information - January 2021

    Tue 05 Jan 2021

    Dear Parents / Carers

As Mrs Darby explained in her message previous, school, nursery and Little Gems will be open as normal for parents who are key workers and for the children who are classified as vulnerable. If you believe you or your child fall under these categories then bring your child/children to school at the normal time and speak to member of staff on the yard. Breakfast club and kids zone will be on for families who need this for work purposes only and normal fees will apply. Normal school dinner arrangements will be in place and children are expected to wear uniform. (Children can still wear extra layers)

    Thankyou
    Mrs Barrass

  • Further School Closure 4.1.2021

    Mon 04 Jan 2021
    Dear Parents/Carers,
I'm sure you will have seen the announcement made at 8pm by Boris Johnson. As a result school will only be open to children of key workers and those classed as vulnerable from tomorrow. I appreciate this is very short notice and we have heard it at the same time as you. The gates will be open as normal in the morning. If you believe your child should be in school under these circumstances please bring them to school and speak to a member of leadership on the gate. We will be in touch again tomorrow with information on remote learning etc. Please bear with us at this difficult time

  • Information regarding return to school, Monday 4th January 2021

    Sun 03 Jan 2021
Dear Parents/Carers, I want to reassure you that despite the many headlines and news stories we will be opening as normal tomorrow - Monday 4th January. We will continue to follow our risk assessment and all of the necessary measures to keep everyone as safe as we can.
Please remember we will be keeping school ventilated as much as possible so windows and doors will be open. The children will need to wrap up warm. Parents should pick up children alone if possible and masks must be worn on the yard. I appreciate this is a difficult and worrying time for everyone but if we continue to work together we can keep everyone as safe as possible.
Thank you for your continued support.
    Mrs Darby.
