Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
Dear Parents/Carers,
During lockdown, children are using the internet more than ever before especially with the use of Google Classrooms to access their school work. This means it is important to be extra vigilant with their safety online.
We have recently been made aware of a new website and trend that allows people to "talk to strangers". This is a social networking site that allows people to connect with unknown users at random and talk to them over chat, video or audio. Obviously, this is an extremely dangerous situation for children to be in. The age restrictions on the website are 13+ and for people under 18 to have parental permission however, there are no age registration processes.
Please remind your children that they should not be talking to strangers at all either in person or on the internet.
Dear Parents/Carers
You may have seen in the news that the government is restarting it's voucher scheme for free school meals.
In order that there is no gap in provision school will be providing food parcels again this Wednesday 20th January which can be picked up from the office between 10.30am and 2pm. They are only available to those who have told us they would like them.
On Monday we will be registering email addresses for every family entitled to free school meals.
If you do not want the vouchers please let us know on Monday.
Also if your email address has changed since the last lockdown please let us know on Monday.
If your child is new to free school meals and we need an email address we will phone you.
We do not know how long the process will take but as soon as we have further information we will be in touch. Please bear with us.
Mrs Darby
The Department for Education have a new scheme to support families in accessing remote learning from home by enabling/improving internet service.
This will be done through your family's current network provider or via a 4g dongle.
To take part in this scheme you need to speak to school as it is school that will apply for this support on your behalf. We can only apply for one type of support per child.
Participating networks are:
*Three
*Smarty
*Virgin Mobile
*EE
*Tesco Mobile
*Sky Mobile
*O2
*Vodafone
More service providers may join the scheme as time goes on.
More information can be found on:
Please contact the school office for more information or to apply to the scheme.
Just a reminder to those families that are on Free School meals and have spoke to us to say they would like a weekly meal hamper ordering, they can collect today between 10:30am and 2pm. Please ensure that you do collect these today as some contents of the hamper will need to be refrigerated.
Thank you
Free school meal parcels will be available from the school office between the hours of 10.30am and 2.00pm on Wednesday 13th January. It is important that parcels are collected on Wednesday as some produce will need to be refrigerated and we do not have the fridge space to keep overnight . You must have already ordered your parcel following a discussion with the school office. Parcels will be available on a weekly basis. If you decide you no longer wish to receive the parcel please let us know so we can limit food waste.
If you previously said no to the food parcel and you are eligible, and would now like to receive one please contact the school office to arrange.
Thank you
Dear Parents
Last night (10/01/21) we were informed of a positive case in school. This affects children in the reception bubble and those children that were in Kidzone on Thursday night. We have tried to contact parents last night and this morning. All other children who are currently attending school can continue to attend.
Thank you
Mrs Darby
