  • Voucher Scheme Update

    Tue 31 Mar 2020

The government has announced today an e-voucher/e-gift card scheme for pupils who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals.  All schools are awaiting further information on the scheme so that we can roll the programme out.

The e-vouchers/e-gift cards are for term time only and we are working through the detail as we receive the information.  Our plan is to continue as we have been, offering packed lunches, until after the Easter holidays, but if we can, we will claim your e-voucher/e-gift card this week.

For the next 3 weeks we will continue to provide FSM’s as we have been so please continue to come into your school to collect your FSM.  We will inform you of further information as soon as we have it.

  • Letter and questionnaire regarding Covid-19 school provision

    Fri 20 Mar 2020

    20th March, 2020

Dear parent/ guardian of children at Kingsley Primary School,

As you are aware, the government recently announced that schools will close for most children at the end of the school day today (20.3.20). The most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home (with a parent or responsible adult), they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who ABSOLUTELY NEED TO ATTEND. It is important to underline that the fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread and infect vulnerable individuals in wider society.

Kingsley (along with all other schools), therefore, is being asked to continue to provide care for a limited number of children - children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the Covid-19 response and cannot be safely cared for at home. For official guidance on which children this includes (and a list of key principles), you must read the ‘Guidance for schools, colleges and local authorities on maintaining educational provision’ document (find a link on our website and school app).

Note: children who are identified as vulnerable have already been contacted separately by school. If this is you, please also complete the relevant sections on the questionnaire.

If the above applies to one or more parents/carers, could you please complete the questionnaire below and return it to school as soon as possible or before 5pm today (20.3.20).  You can print the form and return it to the school office or complete the form electronically and email it to

    admin2.kingsley@school.hartlepool.gov.uk

Paper copies of the form are available to pick up.
