Table tennis

Two sessions a week for table tennis including an after school and a breakfast club. Year group 3-6

  • Progression in outside competitions- Hartlepool and Tees Valley tournaments

After school sports assistant

An after school sports assistant employed to provide KS1 clubs and deliver Change for Life club in KS2


  • Improved opportunities for KS1 children (prior to the PE premium no KS1 clubs were available)
  • Change for life – children selected
  • Greater confidence and participation rates

Manor cluster PE support

  • Improved quality of teaching in PE lessons
  • Evaluation and action plan produced towards the new curriculum
  • Team teach lessons
  • Improved access to specialist resources and teaching(gymnastics, trampolining, athletics )
  • Teacher CPD sessions to improve subject knowledge to deliver fundamental skills, netball, dance and cricket
  • Direct link to PE observations for performance management

Balance bike sessions

All chn in reception received two balance bike sessions led by specialist coach.


  • Children gained confidence on balance bikes
  • Children were highlighted for extra intervention sessions
  • Concerns were noted for children who struggled with gross motor skills.
  • Staff CPD and improved confidence to deliver on the school’s balance bikes at a later date.

Additional balance bike sessions (small focus group)

20% of the reception cohort received additional lessons.

Tennis coach

X 4 weekly sessions for Y3 children. CPD used for staff to continue tennis lessons in Spring term


  • All children participated in the tennis lessons
  • Community links shared to Eldon Grove tennis club
  • Clear focus on hand eye coordination
  • Chn highlighted for intervention
