Coronavirus Update
13 March 2020
Dear Parents
I wanted to update you today about the current situation with regards to Coronavirus (Covid-19).
I can confirm that at present we have no cases of Coronavirus reported in school.
We are following advice from the government and we are receiving updates daily. As I am sure you all know
we take the health and safety of our school community very seriously and as such we are taking every
precaution necessary.
At present we have;
Shown all of the children the correct handwashing method
Increased the frequency of handwashing
Purchased additional supplies of tissues/soap etc.
Increased the frequency of disinfecting toys/equipment
Ordered new dispensers to switch from bars to liquid soap right across school
Going forward we ask you to support us in the following ways;
Encourage the handwashing protocol at home
Monitor everyone’s health and keep your child at home if they have a temperature or a new persistent
cough
Encourage the correct use of tissues to catch coughs and sneezes
Keep yourself up to date with government advice regarding foreign travel and inform us if you have
been/are going to any relevant country
Keep checking the school app/website for updates
We are monitoring all school activities carefully and we are assessing trips etc. on a case by case basis.
Government advice may change in the coming days/weeks and we will update you whenever we have new
information. We are preparing home learning packs for the children in case of future school closures.
For the time being we are continuing our daily life in school and we appreciate your continued support at this
difficult time.
Yours sincerely
Mrs A J Darby
