Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
As Christmas approaches, lots of children will be accessing various different websites using a variety of devices. If any of these devices are new or do not currently have parental settings enabled, West Yorkshire Police have developed a poster sharing a few tips that will make setting up a new device much more child friendly. Please see the poster below.
Many thanks
As you know, the NSPCC visited our school today and delivered their Speak out. Stay safe. assembly to share information with your child about how they can keep themselves safe from harm and get help if they have any worries.
It was a very worthwhile and empowering session for both pupils and teachers. They spoke to the children and staff about the valuable work they do across the country, and talked about how important it is for everyone in our school community to join them in their 'fight for every childhood'.
Talking PANTS with your children
The NSPCC's work in schools will help encourage conversations about staying safe - and they have a number of child-friendly materials to help you carry on the conversation afterwards. That includes 'Talk PANTS', a simple way for parents to help keep children safe from sexual abuse - without using scary words or even mentioning sex.
The guide uses the rules of PANTS to teach children that their body belongs to them and them alone. You can find out more and download the free resources at nspcc.org.uk/pants
If you'd like to know more about the NSPCC's work, or take a look at the wise range of information and advice which is available for parents and carers, please visit their website spcc.org.uk/parents
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Allott
Deputy Headteacher

Things are changing!
As of May 25th 2018 the current Data Protection Act 1998 will be replaced by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This will affect how schools manage personal data and how this is protected. Although Kingsley Primary School is committed to protecting and respecting the confidentiality of sensitive information relating to pupils, staff, parents, governors and the wider community, the introduction of this new legislation has meant that we are reviewing our current good practice to ensure compliance of the new legislation.
School is working closely with the Local Authority and our Data Protection Officer and will be updating privacy notices, policies and consent forms in the coming weeks. These will be available on our school website.
If you require any additional information please contact the school office.
We are very excited to be hosting a swap shop during morning break on Monday 21st May.
It would be incredibly helpful if parents/carers could send in some delicious cakes or cookies to encourage people to swap old towels, bedding, blankets, tins of dog food or 50p for a cake or a cookie.
All items and money raised will go to Stray Aid.
Thank you so much for everything you have already contributed and your continued support for our chosen cause.
From
Kingsley School Council.
Our school council have decided their new project is to help Stray Aid. After Easter, we will be collecting old towels, bedding and dog food that will make the lives of the cats and dogs in stray aid a little more comfortable.
Please check out our School Council page for more information.
