Hartlepool Borough Council are offering lots of holiday activities for children over the summer. Please see information below regarding the Holiday Fun Activities they are running.
It’s going to be a sizzling summer in Hartlepool!
There are lots of fantastic, fun activities for children and young people
in Hartlepool aged 4 to 16 to look forward to over the school summer
holidays.
Swimming, drama workshops, canoeing, hair and beauty, dodgeball, arts
and crafts, music and dance, gardening, cooking, movie days, road
safety sessions, puppet-making, story times, treasure hunts, chemistry
and astronomy, football and cricket, a climbing wall, street dance,
archery, bricklaying and joinery plus much more, and most of the
activities are free.
They’ll discover new hobbies and skills, make new friends and build their
confidence - and they'll get tasty meals into the bargain.
It’s all part of Hartlepool Holiday Fun – a new project run by Hartlepool
Borough Council in partnership with different organisations across the
town and funded by the Department for Education - providing activities
for children and young people over this year's main school holidays.

Dear parent/ guardian,
I am sure you agree that this isolation period for the Y6 children has come at the cruellest of times. We all share your frustration and disappointment that it has happened this way. However, as always, the safety of your child and your family is the priority and I’m sure you all understand.
To make the best out of this situation, arrangements have been made to mark the occasion of your child leaving Kingsley and for you to receive important information (such as your child’s school report). Please see the sections below for more details. Important: please ensure your child continues to isolate – they cannot come to school with you to collect anything!
School reports, personal belongings
If your child has a sibling in school today, we will send your Y6 report home with him/her. We will also send any personal belongings from Y6.
The reports and belongings of all other Y6 children will be available for collection from the school office from 3:20pm today.
If you cannot collect from the school office, it will be delivered to your home address on Thursday 15th July.
Free school meals
If your child is entitled to free school meals, a food package will be available for collection from the school office from Tuesday 13th July
Leavers’ assembly
On Friday 16th July at 10am, we will be hosting a virtual leavers’ assembly for your child and details to join the assembly will follow.
Leavers’ Pack
We are currently working hard to make a pack to celebrate your child’s time with us at Kingsley. This will include: a leavers’ book, a Kingsley pen, a DVD, a free copy of your child’s individual report photo (professionally printed) and some special messages from the staff at Kingsley. These will not be available until Thursday 15th July. On Thursday, we will either send it home with a sibling or deliver it to your home address.
Carlton Photos
For those of your who have already ordered and paid for the Carlton photos DVD, it will be included in your child’s leavers’ pack (see previous section for details).
If you still wish to purchase one of these, please ring the school office to make the order and arrange payment. We will need all orders before 12pm on Wednesday 14th July to enable us to make them in time. Once we have your order, the DVD will be added to your child’s leavers’ pack.
Work packs
There will be work packs available for collection from the school office from lunch time today. The work will reflect the expectations we would have had if your children were in school this week. If you feel that you can provide tasks such as mindful colouring and puzzles yourself, there is no need to collect one.
If you have any questions/ concerns that you would like to discuss with us, please contact us by calling the main school office. If your child develops symptoms, please ring the school Covid phone asap (07714518313).
Thank you.
Kingsley Leadership/ Y6 Team.
Dear parents/carers/guardians
Reports will be sent out today for the children in school (Nursery, Reception, Y1, Y2, Y4, Y5). Inside the envelope is also a leaflet with your childs’s new teacher on. Unfortunately, we will be unable to do our usual meet the teacher sessions in school due to Covid restrictions and bubble closures, however we can reassure children and parents we have no new teachers starting in September.
Children in Mrs Lucas’s class and Miss Simpson’s class will receive their report when staff return from isolation this week.
Y6 school reports will be passed to siblings if possible. If not they will be available from the school office from 3.20pm today.
For children in any other year groups who are ill, isolating or not currently in school, any reports and photos that are still in school on Thursday at 3.20pm will be posted out on Friday.
Many thanks for your continued support.
Mrs A Darby
Dear Parents/Carers
You will see when you receive your child's report that we have included a photograph of your child this year.
These photographs were taken by a member of our staff in school. As we did not have our usual tempest photographs this year we have printed off a 6 X 8 copy of your child's picture for you.
There is no charge for this however, if you would like to send a small donation towards the cost that would be appreciated.
A small number of children were absent from these photographs or refused to have one taken.
Thank you
Mrs Darby
Dear Parents and Carers, we have been informed today of a positive lateral flow result from the Key Stage 2 base, Mrs Worth's class.
This means that everyone in there will need to isolate until we receive the results of the PCR test.
This only affects the children who were in the base on Friday.
Mrs Barrass has attempted to call all affected families this morning.
We will be in touch as soon as we receive the result.
Mrs Darby
Dear Parents/Carers
We have, this morning, been informed of a positive case in Year 6. This means all of the children now need to isolate until midnight on Saturday 17th July. They can go out again on Sunday 18th July. We have attempted to call all affected parents this morning.
Unfortunately this means the children will miss their last week in school. We will hand deliver leavers books and reports this week.
Please give us a call if you have any queries.
Mrs Darby
To celebrate England’s historic achievement in reaching our first major final in 55 years, Friday (tomorrow) we will be renamed as ‘It’s Coming Home Day’. Children can come to school dressed in red, white, blue or in football tops including face or hair paint. There is no need to bring any money.
If you are currently at home isolating you can dress up at home and send us pictures on google classrooms.
Let’s all join in wishing the team well for the final on Sunday.
Dear Parent/Carer - Year 2
We have recieved the PCR results this morning from the lateral flow test which closed Year 2.
Good news its negative!
This means Year 2 can return to school and no longer need to isolate.
The children can return after lunch or they can return tomorrow if thats more convenient for you.
The Y2 staycation day will be rescheduled for next week, more info to follow.
Thank you
Mrs Darby
Dear Parents/Carers
As you are all aware it has been a difficult two weeks for us all with lots of bubble closures across school.
I completely understand this has caused some anxiety for many of you. I wanted to reassure you about some of the measures we have taken in school and also explain about the spread of cases.
At present all of the cases across school in the separate bubbles are separate cases with causes from outside of school. We currently have only one case which could have come from within the bubble in school.
After extensive discussions with public health we are reassured that no cases have spread across bubbles in school and the isolations have worked to stop the spread.
After every positive case the areas used by the individual concerned have been deep cleaned and treated with a germ killing ozone machine.
There is a distinct rise in the number of cases across town at the moment and this is reflected in our families and community.
All of our protective measures in school remain robust and public health are happy we are taking every precaution possible.
As bubbles begin to return to school next week we will continue with every precaution.
We look forward to welcoming the children back to enjoy the end of the school year.
Thank you for your continued support.
Yours sincerely
Mrs Darby
